We have been training this heron to dive into the lake for water for some weeks now. A dead fish is suspended just below the surface.

Trapping stoats and weasels is not so hard, but photographing a captive one is. They will hide themselves away in the smallest of gaps. This weasel was better than most and  posed quite well.

I use the Canon G11 compact camera for all my wide angled shots of wildlife now. Its big advantage is no shutter noise and being so small the bird hardly notices it although less than a foot away from its head. The bird was baited for several weeks in one spot and the camera fired by remote control.
